A Tipperary man due to stand trial in October accused of IRA membership and explosive charges has been granted bail by the Special Criminal Court.

Dylan Cahill (22), of Lower Irishtown, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, is charged with membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hEireann, otherwise the IRA within the State on May 13 2015.

Mr Cahill is also charged with possession of .380 calibre Colt semi-automatic pistol and with possession of four rounds of .380 calibre ammunition, in circumstances as to give rise to a reasonable inference that he had not got the items ….read more

A 52-year-old man is due to be extradited to the United Kingdom on charges relating to an alleged conspiracy to import drugs with a street value of up to eight million pounds sterling.

Liam McGowan of no fixed abode, is facing charges in the UK of conspiring with others to fraudulently evade the probation on the importation of a controlled drug of class A cannabis bush and of class C ketamin over a three year period between February 1st, 2011 and February 7th, 2014.

A Dublin man has been sentenced to life imprisonment after a jury found him guilty of the murder of 35-year-old John Wilson in 2012.

Keith O’Neill (40) from Lissadell Drive, Drimnagh in Dublin, had pleaded not guilty to murdering John Wilson (35) on September 28th, 2012 at his home on Cloverhill Road, Ballyfermot Dublin 10.

John Wilson was shot twice in the hallway of his house more than two years ago.

The jury has begun deliberating in the trial of a Dublin man accused of the murder of a man at his home more than two years ago.

Keith O’Neill (39) from Lissadell Drive, Drimnagh in Dublin, has pleaded not guilty to murdering John Wilson (35) on September 28th, 2012 at his home on Cloverhill Road, Ballyfermot Dublin 10.

It is the prosecution’s case that Mr O’Neill participated in the death of Mr Wilson.

Mr Justice Tony Hunt asked the jury of five women and seven men for a unanimous verdict today at the Central Criminal Court.

A murder trial has heard that a pair of jeans recovered from a bag that gardai saw the accused man place in a skip the day a man was shot dead were found to have firearm residue on them.

The extradition hearing of an Irishman alleged to be the “largest facilitator of child porn in the world” will not begin until June after the High Court heard he has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome.

Eric Eoin Marques, who is alleged to be the owner and administrator of an anonymous hosting site known as Freedom Hosting, is wanted by the US authorities to face charges relating to conspiring to distribute and advertise child pornography and advertising and distributing child pornography.
