Woman charged with breach of a protection order remanded in custody with consent to bail

A WOMAN charged with breaching a protection order has been remanded in custody with consent to bail.

Natasha Reilly has had strict conditions imposed on her bail after she appeared before Swords District Court.

Reilly, of Broadmeadow estate in Swords, is alleged to have breached the protection order after she allegedly threatened to ‘smash the face’ off the alleged victim.

Reilly (34) was arrested on May 17th and made no reply after caution, the court heard.

A DOG owner who was warned to control her dogs’ constant and excessive barking had a case against her struck out after a judge heard there has been a ‘colossal improvement.’

Gail Corr was warned by Judge Dermot Dempsey two months ago that her two dogs would be removed from her ownership if there was no improvement.

However, after Ms Corr fixed anti-barking collars to the dogs, the barking has ceased, Balbriggan District Court has heard.

A CLEANER who betrayed the trust of her employer after she stole four blank cheques has been ordered to come up with compensation otherwise she will face a custodial sentence.

Linda Murphy cashed one of the cheques for €320. However, she made no attempt to cash the other three cheques, Balbriggan District Court heard.

Murphy (42) of Cardy Rock Court in Balbriggan pleaded guilty to the theft of four blank cheques from her employers Jack and Terry Maloney of Skerries Road, Balbriggan on dates between February 1st, 2013 and August 23rd, 2013.

A BUSINESSMAN who headbutted a woman in front of his nine year old daughter over a car parking space has been ordered to come up with compensation and a charitable donation if he wants to avoid a conviction.

Peter Mulligan, who is originally from Glasgow, claimed the headbutt was ‘not intentional’ and that the 40-year-old woman began swearing at him beforehand.

He claimed the woman’s car had made contact with his car while they were in the car park and that she had called him a ‘f**king asshole’.

A MOTHER of five who was carrying out a bogus collection in aid of Today FM’s Shave or Dye campaign for the Irish Cancer Society has been given the benefit of the Probation Act.

Frances O’Brien (54) had a bench warrant executed at Balbriggan District Court after she had failed to appear before Swords District Court to answer the charge.

O’Brien of Brackenwood Drive in Balbriggan pleaded guilty to using a false instrument, namely a false charity card to collect for the national radio station’s ….read more

Dad of three who threatened to smash up car bound to peace for one year

A FATHER-of-three who became aggressive to gardai when they threatened to seize a vehicle and threatened to ‘smash up the car’ has been placed on a peace bond for one year.

Andrew Gosson also became aggressive to gardai on a different date when he was stopped for erratic driving on a motorway.

Gosson (24) of Thornchase, Skerries Road in Rush pleaded guilty before Balbriggan District Court to using threatening and abusive behaviour December 17th, 2013 and on the M1 Southbound on January 16th.

A WOMAN accused of fraudulently claiming €70,000 in social welfare payments over a year and a half is facing a circuit court trial on the charges.

Bridget McDonagh (27) of Hampton Court in Balbriggan is alleged to have knowingly concealed Carer’s Allowance and Child Allowance on dates between March 1st 2008 and December 10th, 2009 from Yellowbatter Post Office in Drogheda and Phibsboro Post Office in Dublin.

Balbriggan District Court heard that she was alleged to have committed a total of 75 offences at the time.

A SPECIAL Needs Assistant who stole items of clothing and jewellery from Penney’s in Swords had her case struck out after she made a charitable donation.

Cherie Quinn, a mother of five, told Swords District Court she ‘genuinely was not aware’ the goods were at the bottom of her shopping trolley.

Quinn (43) of Castle Crescent in Ashbourne, Co Meath pleaded guilty to the theft of goods valued at €100.25 from Penney’s on Main Street, Swords on April 15th.

Brothers who were abusive while celebrating birth ordered to make donation

FOUR BROTHERS, who were intoxicated and abusive to security staff at a Swords bar while celebrating the birth of one of the men’s baby, have been ordered to come up with €800 as a charitable donation to avoid a conviction.

Man who drove while disqualified avoids prison sentence

A MAN who drove a car while disqualified from driving has escaped a prison sentence after he was deemed suitable for community service.

Father-of-five Karl Robinson has been ordered to complete 240 hours community service work in lieu of a three month prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving while disqualified at Station Road in Lusk on June 29th, 2013.
