A repeat offender who is serving multiple sentences for assault has had an extra five months added on to his prison term, after pleading guilty to cocaine offences six years ago.
Liam Houston (40), of Kiltalown Road, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to drugs offences before Judge Peter White at Tallaght District Court.
The court heard that on November 16, 2019, Houston was found in possession of cocaine valued at €550 at Whitehall Road West, Perrystown, Dublin 12.
He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine for sale or supply under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, and to simple possession under Section 3.
Houston was represented in court by solicitor Eddie O’Connor, who told the court his client has two children and a total of 55 previous convictions dating back to 2006.
He said Houston had only one previous drug conviction.
Judge White imposed a five-month prison sentence for the Section 15 offence and ordered it to run consecutively to a four-year prison term for assault offences Mr Houston has been serving since May 13, 2024.
Houston is currently serving that sentence in Mountjoy Prison.
The simple possession offence was dealt with under the Probation Act.
