A man who pleaded guilty to harassing a woman and sharing intimate photos of her will be sentenced in Castlebar later this year.
Daniel Humphreys (38) of McHale Road, Castlebar, admitted distributing or publishing an intimate image of a woman without her consent on October 6, 2021 and again the following year on or about June 1, 2022. The offences come under recent legislation known as Coco’s Law, which prohibits the sharing of intimate photos.
Humphreys also pleaded guilty at Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court to harassing the same woman on dates between February 11, 2021 and June 1, 2022 at various locations within the State.
He has no previous convictions.
Diarmuid Connolly BL, defending, said there was a complex history to Humphreys’ offending behaviour and he asked the court for a psychological report.
Judge Eoin Garavan granted the preparation of a psychological report and also ordered a probation report.
The case was adjourned for a sentence hearing on October 21.
