Prostitute tells court partner was stabbed before her eyes

A prostitute has told the Central Criminal Court that a man stabbed her partner in front of her and took her money.

Przemyslaw Trebacz (35) of Bramble Rise, Killynebber, Cavan has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Costel Catalin Cretu (38) at Connolly Court, Connolly Street, Cavan between October 13 and 14, 2012.

Mr Trebacz has pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a door belonging to Brendan Cosgrove at Connolly Court on October 13, 2012.

Case against Eamon Kelly murder accused put back

The case against a Dublin man charged with murdering veteran criminal Eamon Kelly has been put back for two weeks.

In December last year Sean Connolly (34), of Bernard Curtis House, Bluebell, appeared before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court charged with murdering Mr Kelly at Furry Park Road, Killester on Dublin’s north-side, on December 4th, 2012.

Mr Connolly was also charged with IRA membership and with possession of a firearm on the same occasion.

Two murder accused acting as a unit, jury hears

The jury in the trial of two men accused of murder has been told it was immaterial which of them inflicted the fatal wounds because they were acting as a unit.

A prosecutor was giving his closing speech in the trial of two brothers and their uncle, who are charged in connection with the death of a man near their home.

Gerard McMahon was stabbed to death on January 18, 2012, as he arrived to visit his cousin on Lenihan Avenue, Prospect in Limerick City.

Jury begin deliberations in Gerard McMahon murder trial

A jury has begun deliberating in the trial of three members of a Limerick family charged in connection with the death of a man near their home.

Gerard McMahon was stabbed to death on January 18, 2012, as he arrived to visit his cousin on Lenihan Avenue, Prospect in the city.

Seán Flanagan (28) and his uncle, Paul Colbert (46), of Lenihan Avenue have pleaded not guilty to murdering the 43-year-old.

Seán Flanagan’s brother, Ian Flanagan (24), of the same address, is accused of removing a CCTV recorder from their house, knowing it might form evidence in a prosecution. He has pleaded not ….read more

A Polish national fatally stabbed a Romanian man who was guarding two prostitutes in a Co. Cavan apartment last year, the Central Criminal Court has heard.

Man charged in connection with 200K drugs seizure

A 58-YEAR-OLD construction worker was remanded in custody this evening after he was charged in connection with seizures of about €200,000 worth drugs in Dublin and Kildare earlier this week.

Detectives attached to the Garda National Drugs Unit seized a quantity of cannabis at Ryebrook Business Park, Leixlip, Co. Kildare on Tuesday.

In a follow-up search in Finglas, in Dublin, cocaine and heroin were also recovered. Two men had been arrested and this evening, one of them appeared before Judge Ann Watkin at Dublin District Court.
